About

Hello there!

My name is Barry Levitt, and I am a freelance film critic. I have been utterly obsessed 15732511_10210935021713440_6131446886036587958_owith film since I can remember, and moved from the beautiful nation of Canada to the UK to study film. I did my BA in Film studies at the University of Warwick and my MA in Film Studies at King’s College London.

I have been published in The Hamilton Spectator, The Boar, The Student Journals, The Scruffy Nerf Herder, FrontRowReviews, and Filmoria. I write about film and occasionally my other passion, video games.

Some of my favourite filmmakers include Atom Egoyan, Sarah Polley, William Wyler, Steven Spielberg, Denis Villeneuve, Richard Linklater, and a heck of a lot more. I love coming-of-age films, courtroom dramas, animation, and high-trash ART (hello The Boy Next Door).

My recent published highlights are found on my homepage, and you can find some of my selected writing here, and you can contact me here.
